Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Kelly Ferrara met with Director Diana Tschoepe for the purpose of an unannounced random annual inspection. LPA toured the facility including all activity and classroom spaces, restrooms, food service and outdoor play areas. Appropriate ratio and care and supervision were observed during today's inspection. Census included 5 infants and 6 toddlers in a toddler option classroom being supervised by three staff. Director was reminded never to exceed the conditions, limitations and capacity specified on the license. Facility hours of operation are Monday through Friday from 6:30 AM- 6 PM. .

LPA observed a current Needs and Services plan for each infant in care. Bottles and baby food were kept in a refrigerator inside the classroom and were properly labeled with the child's name and date. Each crib has a fitted sheet and there were sheets and cots available for the older infants. The Director stated that the bedding is washed daily. There is a separate area for cribs and no infants were observed to be napping. Director stated that she understands that a teacher needs to be in the nap area when infants are sleeping. Infant diaper changing area is clean and within arm's reach of a sink.

Classrooms all appeared clean including the carpets and floor. Playground equipment and surfaces are free of loose or sharp parts. The areas around or under the climbing equipment are cushioned with enough material to absorb a fall and there is adequate shade. Uncontaminated drinking water was readily available to children both indoors and outdoors. There are no firearms or bodies of water on the premises, and the facility has at least one functioning carbon monoxide detector. Trash cans containing solid waste had lids. Menus were posted for lunch and AM and PM snack and other required licensing documentation was posted for parental review. LPA observed binders where the parents are signing their children in and out of the center. Toileting facilities are in safe, sanitary, and operating condition and there are enough sinks and toilets for the children in care. Chemicals were stored inaccessible to children.
