13 | Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Marea Behvand conducted an unannounced complaint visit to deliver findings to Licensee, Shareen Chandra. It was alleged that Licensee failed to provide adequate food service and a comfortable environment for children in care. It was also alleged that Licensee made inappropriate comments and used inappropriate forms of punishment to the children. Throughout interviews it was determined that children are given the appropriate portions of food. LPA was informed that the Licensee is part of the Beanstalk food program and has consulted with them on what constitutes as appropriate serving sizes of food to children according to their ages. Napping equipment for the children appeared to be appropriate. No acknowledgement of inappropriate comment making was stated by children or parents. No instance of inappropriate forms of punishment was stated by the children. Due to conflicting information received throughout the investigation from interviews with the Reporting Party, the Licensee, the children, the parents, and observations, LPA was unable to prove or disprove the allegations. Although the allegation may be valid, there is not a preponderance of evidence that the alleged violations occurred, therefore the above allegations are UNSUBSTANTIATED. An exit interview was conducted and a Notice of Site Visit was posted. Appeal rights were provided. |
