Licensing Program Analysts (LPAs) Kelly Ferrara and Mai Lor met with Director Iona Thompson for the purpose of an unannounced random annual inspection. LPAs toured the facility including all activity and classroom spaces, restrooms, food service and outdoor play areas. Appropriate ratio and care and supervision were observed during today's inspection. Census included three infants being supervised by one staff. Director was reminded never to exceed the conditions, limitations and capacity specified on the license. Facility hours of operation are Monday through Friday from 6:30 AM- 6:00 PM.

LPAs observed a current Needs and Services plan for each infant in care. Bottles and baby food were kept in a refrigerator inside the classroom and were properly labeled with the child's name and date. Each crib has a fitted sheet and there were sheets and cots available for the older infants. The Director stated that the bedding is changed daily. There is a separate room for napping and all three infants were napping. Staff was present in the room and stated that she stays in the room while they are sleeping. Infant diaper changing area is clean and within arm's reach of a sink.

Classrooms all appeared clean including the carpets and floor. Playground equipment and surfaces are free of loose or sharp parts. The areas around or under the climbing equipment are cushioned with enough material to absorb a fall and there is adequate shade. Uncontaminated drinking water was readily available to children both indoors and outdoors. There are no firearms or bodies of water on the premises, and the facility has at least one functioning carbon monoxide detector. Trash cans containing solid waste had lids. Menus were posted for lunch and AM and PM snack and other required licensing documentation was posted for parental review. LPAs observed binders where the parents are signing their children in and out of the center. Chemicals were stored inaccessible to children in the infant classroom.
