25 | On May 3rd, 2023 Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Soleil Marx, met with Director, Jennifer McCray, for the purpose of conducting a plan of correction visit. LPA observed a census of six infants being supervised by three staff.
The facility was previously cited two Type B deficiencies on 4/17/2023 for not being in compliance with CCR 101239.1(c) Napping Equiptment (c) Each cot or mat shall be equipped with a sheet to cover the cot or mat and, depending on the weather, a sheet and/or blanket to cover the child, as evidenced by LPAs observation of infants in care not having sheets on their cots and CCR 101439.1(e)(1)(e) Each infant's bedding shall be used for him/her only. Such bedding shall be replaced when wet or soiled, or when the crib, mat or cot is to be occupied by another infant. (1) Bedding shall be changed daily, or more often if required by subdivision (e) above, as evidenced by LPAs observation of soiled crib sheets.
LPA observed that crib sheets are clean and a checklist is posted to remind staff to wash bedding daily, LPA will clear deficiency CCR 101439.1(e)(1)(e).
LPA observed that infants were still napping on cots that did not have sheets on them. Staff and Director stated that the wrong sheets were ordered, that they ordered crib sheets instead of cot sheets. The facility failed to correct the deficiency 101239.1(c) which was due 04/24/2023.
LPA communicated to Director the seriousness of failing to correct this deficiency and informed Director that civil penalties will accrue of $100 a day for failure to correct if the deficiency is not corrected by 05/10/23.
Based on today's visit, one Title 22 deficiency 101239.1(c) is being re-cited on 809-D
Report reviewed with Director, exit interview conducted, appeal rights provided. A Notice of site visit was issued and must remain posted for 30 days. |
