25 | On 07/06/2022, at approximately 12:30 PM, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Alize Tillery met with Program Officer Betsy Uda, for the purpose of an unannounced case management visit. The facility’s hours of operation are Monday through Friday, 8:00am to 5:00pm. Upon arrival, there were 14 napping preschool children, supervised by 2 staff; and 6 napping toddler children, supervised by 2 staff.
Program Officer originally requested to decrease the capacity from 48 (40 preschool and 8 toddler) children to 29 (20 preschool and 9 toddler) children. LPA received the fire clearance on 06/07/2022.
During today's inspection, Program Officer decided to keep the current capacity at 48 and alter the amount of preschool children to 39 and toddler children to 9, for the total capacity of 48.
LPA requested that Program Officer submit an "Updated" Application to reflect the request. LPA Tillery will contact the Fire Department for a revised Fire Clearance.
A health and safety inspection was conducted in all areas accessible to children. LPA observed sufficient amount of furniture, toys, and play equipment in the classrooms. Toxic and hazardous items are inaccessible to children. LPAs observed medications are inaccessible and stored appropriately. Facility uses electronic sign in and out system. LPA observed required postings at the entrance of the facility. There are 4 toilets and 5 available to children, and a separate private restroom for staff is available. Children who become ill during the day will be isolated in the office area and will use the staff restroom, if necessary.
There is one outdoor area, separated by a shed and cones for preschool and toddler use. The outdoor play area has a fence at least 4 feet tall. LPA observed a sufficient amount of equipment and toys. There are no bodies of water on the premises. There are shaded areas supplied by trees and a canopy. There is a waiver on file allowing the facility to share the outdoor space with preschool and toddler children.
As of today, the facility will remain at the capacity of 48. LPA Tillery will send the facility an updated license that reads specifically for 39 preschool children and 9 toddler children.
In the areas observed no deficiencies were cited. A notice of site visit was given and must remain posted for 30 days. |
