25 | On Wednesday, 10/28/20 at 12:30pm, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA), Jan Hoshida, met with Licensee, Maria Voicova, via FaceTime due to COVID-19 pandemic, for the purpose of an increase of capacity inspection. Licensee had applied to change from a Small Family Child Care Home to a Large Family Child Care Home. LPA observed that there were 5 day care children (2 children that are under the age of 2 years of age) and her husband/assistant in the home. The off-limit areas include the entire upstairs, the kitchen with attached dining room, living room and bar/additional sink area, laundry room, bathroom by the laundry room, garage, backyard and pool area. Licensee acknowledged that children may never enter the off-limit areas. Licensee acknowledged that if she would like to change an off-limits area to on-limits, she will inform LPA prior to using the space for inspection and approval. Licensee stated there are no new residents in the home since licensure. All adult residents have criminal record clearances. The hours of operation are Monday through Sunday from 12:00am to 12:00pm. Licensee acknowledged that day care children may not attend the day care for longer than 24 hours at a time.
During the FaceTime inspection, LPA Hoshida requested a tour of the facility. LPA and Licensee conducted a health and safety inside and out the home. A fire pull, functioning smoke and carbon monoxide detectors and fire extinguisher were observed in the home. The Fire Safety Inspection Clearance has been received from the Sacramento Metropolitan Fire Department and the home has been cleared as of 10/22/20.
There is an in-ground pool on the property which is completely surrounded by a see-through mesh fence that is at least 5 feet high. LPA observed the gate to self-close and self-latch. There are no windows or doors that provide direct access into the pool area.
