25 | At 11:50 a.m. on Friday, February 18th, 2022, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Karyn Guerra met with Licensee, Nesrin Aouf, for the purpose of an unannounced required - 1 year inspection. Licensee has also requested a change of capacity to increase to a large family child care home. A fire clearance STD850 form is on file with the department. Census upon time of arrival consisted of 1 infant, 3 preschool children, and 1 school age child. LPA provided an entrance checklist to Licensee upon arrival. Licensee provided criminal record clearance for all adults in the home. Hours of operation are 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Licensee was reminded that no children shall be in care for over a 24 hour period. LPA reviewed overnight care regulations with Licensee.
A health and safety inspection was conducted in all areas accessible to children. Off limits areas consist of master bedroom #1, bedroom #3, and garage. Licensee acknowledged that children must never enter these areas. LPA observed the required postings, a working phone, 2A10BC fire extinguisher, and a functioning smoke detector. LPA did not observe a carbon monoxide detector. Licensee stated there are no weapons nor poisons in the home. Toxic and hazardous items were appropriately stored, inaccessible to children. Backyard outdoor play space is fenced. Licensee was reminded to remove any broken items.
LPA reviewed children and facility files and observed required documents including consent for emergency medical treatment, emergency information card, and immunization records. LPA provided form CDPH 286 to document immunization records. Current in person EMSA CPR and First Aid certification was verified and expires 1/17/2023. LPA reviewed that any adults assisting with children must have a signed statement acknowledging requirement to report child abuse LIC9108.
