25 | Licensing Program Analysts (LPAs), Chayntel Hunter and Salene Mayberry met with Licensee, Peggy Lankenau for the purpose of conducting a case management inspection to increase the facility capacity. Licensee applied to change from a Small Family Child Care Home to a Large Family Child Care Home. Fire clearance was granted by Cosumnes Fire Department on 4/8/2022. LPAs observed 7 children present in the home with Licensee.
All adults have criminal record clearances. Licensee was reminded that all adults 18 and over living or working in the home, including employees and volunteers, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a licensed Family Child Care Home. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day up to $500.00 maximum per day/per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated.
LPAs and Licensee toured the home inside and out. Off limit areas are: the entire second floor and the garage. Licensee acknowledged that children may never enter the off-limit areas. Licensee has a current Mandatd Reporter training certificate that expires in August 2022. Current pediatric CPR and First Aid was verified and expires June 2023. LPA’s verified toxic and hazardous items were inaccessible to children in care. LPA’s observed functioning smoke and carbon monoxide detectors and a 3A40BC fire extinguisher in the home. Licensee stated there are no weapons in the home.
Licensee currently does not have any children enrolled that require IMS. If in the future any IMS is provided, a Plan for Providing IMS must be submitted to the Department.
