LPA did not observe bodies of water on the premises, facility representative confirmed there are zero bodies of water on the premises.
Restrooms: There are two restrooms located in the hallway between the classrooms, One restroom was equipped with one toilet and one sink. The other restroom was equipped with two toilets and two sinks. Restrooms were observed to be in safe and sanitary operating condition. Toilets and sinks are functioning properly and are age appropriate. Paper towels and soap were available to the children.
Meals: One snack is provided each day by an assigned parent. The menu was posted.
Napping: This preschool program offers a three hour a day program. Therefore, the children do not nap at the facility. The classroom has a designated areas for relaxation and quite play.
Outdoor: LPA inspected the outdoor play space for health, safety, cushioning material, good repair and age appropriateness. The area has one large play structure, swings, a dramatic play house, two benches, a concrete track, and two sand boxes. Trees provide the area with natural shade. The large play structure and the swings were securely anchored to the ground. The climbing structure was placed on recycled rubber and the swings were placed on wood chips. When engaged in outdoor play, the children bring their personal water bottles out to the playground, therefore water is readily available.
Transportation: The facility does not provide transportation.
Child/Personnel Records: LPA reviewed five child records and two personnel files during this inspection. Per LPAs review child records were complete. Based on LPA review one of two staff files, did not complete the child care specific mandated reporter training as required. A technical advisory notice was issued.
Facility Records
LPA and Facility representative reviewed the LIC 311A Records To Be Maintained At The Facility. LPA reviewed the the sign in and out records and noticed one child was not signed into the Center. LPA provided a advisory notice to the facility representative regarding the importance of accurate attendance records.
Assembly Bill (AB) 2370, Chapter 676, Statutes of 2018, requires all licensed Child Care Centers (CCCs) constructed before January 1, 2010, to test their water (used for drinking and food preparation) for lead contamination before January 1, 2023, and then every 5-years after the date of the first test. For child care center licenses issued after July 1, 2022, the licensee shall test their water for lead within 180 days of licensure pursuant to Written Directives section 101700 (PIN 21-21.1-CCP). LPA verified that the lead testing was completed in accordance to the Written Directives outlined in PIN 21-21-CCP.
