25 | Licensing Program Analyst Aaron Mabika met with Center Director, Cruz, Silvia today for the purpose of conducting an unannounced Annual/Random inspection for the Pre-School. There are 23 children present upon arrival with 3 teachers. Per director, the hours of operation are 07:00 AM -06:00 PM Monday -Friday. The Center for ages 2 to 6 years.
LPA verified there is 3 staff persons present with current CPR and First Aid training (exp. 2020)
* Two Snacks are provided by the center and lunches are brought in by the parents. Menus were inspected and allergy lists were reviewed and posted. Food and snacks were reviewed for availability, quantity, proper storage, and appropriateness to children in care. Food preparation areas were toured for safety, cleanliness and proper equipment. (2 refrigerators, 3 sinks, stove and microwave oven).
*Disinfectants, cleaning solutions, poisons and other items that are dangerous or hazardous were inaccessible to children and stored in the janitor's locked cabinet.
* Bathrooms (2) are toured and LPA noted all toilets (5), sinks (4) were sanitary and operational. LPA observed soap, paper towel and toilet paper and water tested at a safe temperature. Each classroom was observed to be having a water pitcher, disposable cups, cubbies with children's names identified. LPA counted no less than 36 mats.
*All flooring was found to be clean and safe
*Teacher/child ratio observed, care and supervision were discussed, children's records were reviewed, parent board observed and fire drills are current. More than 4 recommended size Fire extinguisher operable and with a service date of June 20, 2019.
*Trash cans/storage containers for solid waste had tight-fitting covers that are kept on, and in good repair. |
