25 | On 3/12/2020 at 10:50am, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Kim Leung arrived at the facility to conduct an annual inspection. LPA toured the facility, inside and out, records were reviewed and the following was observed and/or discussed:
Normal days and hours of operation are: Monday through Friday, 6am to 6pm
OFF-LIMIT AREAS INCLUDE: entire upstairs and garage
· The licensee and the two assistants are present in the home and ensures that children in care are supervised at all times
· The licensee is operating within the licensed capacity and ratios
· Fully-charged fire extinguisher rated 2A:10BC. Smoke detectors, and carbon monoxide detectors and were tested by the licensee during this inspection.
· Fireplace is screened to prevent access by children
· Stairs are barricaded at the 3rd steps from the bottom and there is a play yard at the foot of the stairs to prevent access to the stairs.
· Storage areas for poisons, detergents, cleaning compounds, medications and other items which could pose a danger to children are stored where they are inaccessible to children
· No guns or weapons at this time as stated by licensee. LICENSEE UNDERSTANDS ALL GUNS, WEAPONS AND AMMUNITION MUST BE KEY-LOCKED SEPARATELY AND MADE INACCESSIBLE PER TITLE 22 REGULATIONS.
· The home is kept clean and orderly, with ventilation for safety and comfort
· Each child has safe, healthful, and comfortable accommodations, furnishings, and equipment
· The home provides safe toys, play equipment, and materials
· The spa is covered and the cover is key-locked to the spa at 3 of the 4 sides. Licensee stated that the 4th lock bracket is broken and an order has been placed to replace the spa cover. Licensee agreed to drain the spa to prevent drowning prior to completion of repair/replacement. Written statement and picture will be submitted to the Department once the spa has been completely drained. LICENSEE UNDERSTANDS ALL BODIES OF WATER INCLUDING PONDS, ABOVE GROUND POOLS & SPAS, IN-GROUND POOLS & SPAS, AND SOME FOUNTAINS MUST BE PROPERLY COVERED OR FENCED PER TITLE 22 REGULATIONS. The Department must be notified before and after installation of the above types of bodies of water. In addition, all wading pools or similar product must be |
