25 | Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Zirbes met with Licensee, Debra Manning who guided analyst on a tour of the facility for the One Year Required inspection. This is single story home with three bedrooms, three bathrooms, kitchen, dining room, living room, daycare play room, and front and back yard. In addition, the home has a attached Grandma house with a kitchen, living room, bedroom and craft room. Per Licensee the kitchen, living room, dining room, daycare play room, bathroom within day care room, the first bedroom (located down the hallway to the left ) and a portion of the backyard are utilized for the family child care activities. At the time of this inspection the on limits bedroom was not being utilized during day care hours and had storage boxes in the room. Licensee stated the bedroom is not being utilized at this time and will not be utilized unless all boxes are removed. The door to this bedroom was locked with a key lock. Per licensee off-limit areas of the home are the master bedroom/bathroom, bedroom two, bathroom two, grandmas house, and a portion of the backyard. Upon arrival, LPA observed six children in care (two school age and five preschool age children) with the Licensee and staff 1 (S1) providing supervision. Currently living in the home is the Licensee. All adults and staff are associated and have eligible clearances. Current days and hours of operation are Monday through Friday 6:30am to 05:30pm.
Physical Plant: The home was inspected inside and out for safety, comfort, cleanliness, telephone service, heating and ventilation, inaccessibility to poisons, detergents/cleaning compounds, medicines and hazardous items that can pose a danger to children. According to Licensee and LPAs observation, all cleaning products are stored in the cabinet under the kitchen sink and in a cabinet in the Daycare room. The cabinets were equipped with a child safety locks therefore all cleaning products were inaccessible to the children in care. Sharp knives were stored in a kitchen drawer equipped with a child safety lock. Medication for the child care children was stored in a locked box in the day care room. Household medications were stored in the master bedroom. The master bedroom was inaccessible via a key locked door at the time of this inspection. Per recorded documentation Fire/earthquake drills were last completed in May 2022, the fire extinguisher was serviced May 2022. Report continued on page two |
