25 | Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Maddox met with Deanna Herndon, Director and Heather Moon, Asst. Director today regarding temporarily relocating the Infant/Toddler program to the Yasuda Center Building on campus due to flooding of their licensed facility. During this inspection LPA toured the 4 classrooms designated for this program.
Room 106 will be designated for Toddlers ages 12 mos. to 24 mos. (457/35= 13)
Room 107 and 108 (this classroom is adjoined to create 1 large classroom) for young 2-year old’s (920/35 = 26). Due to the ages of the children, diaper changing tables are located in each classroom, staff state, due to this temporary relocation and the location of the bathrooms, they will keep this building for Infant/Toddlers who are not potty training.
Room 109 is designated for Infants (ages 3 mos. to 12 mos.) 451/35 = 13
In Room 109 LPA observed 3 cribs, staff are requesting at least 6 Infants in this area and wish to use mats for Infants 6 mos. to 12 mos. LPA informed staff they will need to submit a formal request to allow children of this age group to use mats due to the recent implementation of the new Infant Safe Sleep Regulation.
Staff has forwarded an approved fire clearance for the temporary relocation site.
During this inspection, the classrooms are in the process of being set up to accept children, staff are anticipating opening on Monday, September 26, 2022. LPA is requesting staff to submit pictures of the classrooms set up prior to opening. In addition, staff will still have access to the original play yard which is located in a separate building, staff state they will use Infant/Toddler baby buggies to transport children to and from the play yard. |
