25 | Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Maddox met with Site Director, Deanna Brown today for the purpose of conducting a Case Management inspection. This visit was conducted to inspect the newly renovated Infant classrooms. In September of 2022, the Infant component experienced water damage and had to temporarily to another building on campus.
Director presented LPA with paperwork from the Department of Forestry and Fire Protection stating the building passed it's final inspection (dated 10/20/22) and deemed safe for occupancy.
LPA and Director toured three classrooms (Rooms 132, 143, and 147). LPA observed changing tables within arms reach of a sink, carpets/flooring in good repair, cots available for napping, cribs in place for the younger infants, each classroom has cubbies to store infant belongings including bedding/linen, fire extinguishers were located throughout, carbon monoxide detectors are in operable condition. There are some boxes in the hallway, and staff are still in process of setting up classrooms to receive children before January 4th, 2023 (this is the date school will re-open from Winter break). As a result of this inspection, and the final inspection from the Fire Marshall, the Infant component is safe to resume care. |
