25 | On December 06, 2022, Licensing Program Analysts (LPAs) Babatunde Ibitoye, and Kuliema Calloway, conducted a Case Management inspection in response to information received from the State Water Resources Control Board (SWRCB), Division of Drinking Water (DDW). LPA's met with the Director (Jennifer Johnson), discuss the purpose of the inspection and entry was granted. Upon arrival there 69 children observed, and 9 staff present today.
During the inspection, LPA's informed Director, the results provided from SWRCB, indicated the facility had elevated levels of lead in the water faucet/drinking fountain fixture K (Kitchen 3-bin sink) located in the Kitchen, the Department was notified of the Action Level Exceedance (ALE), levels at 12 ppb. The SWRCB report listed facility inspected and collected sample on 10/22/2022 lab testing number 22J2555 by Forensic Analytical Consulting Services.
Director provided LPA’s a copy of the water analytical report from Forensic Analytical showing the elevated levels of lead in the water faucet/drinking fountain Fixture K (Kitchen 3-bin sink) located in the Kitchen of the facility.
LPA's advised Director, the water outlets tested with an ALE level at the facility should be inoperable and children should be provided with an alternative water source. Per Director Children are not drinking from the Kitchen outlet, moreover Use of the identified outlets for drinking and food preparation has immediately ceased and removed from service as of 10/22/22 when the facility was informed that the outlets were found to have lead levels above the 5 ppb Action Level , Notification provided, testing results posted at the facility on 11/16/22.
