On July 17, 2024, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Calloway made an unannounced inspection to the above facility for the purpose of conducting a Required Annual Random inspection. LPA met with facility representative who granted access. LPA and representative toured the facility inside and outside. LPA observed thirty-five (35) children in active care and three (3) staff. The facility operates from 6:30 am to 6:30 pm. Monday- Friday for summer and during regular school hours at 12:45-6:30 PM.
Physical Plant: LPA observed two clean and safe classrooms, telephone service, heating, lighting, and ventilation are adequate. The cubbies for children's belongings were labeled in each classroom. Furniture, books, equipment, toys, and materials were age appropriate. Drinking water is available inside the classrooms in the form of filtered water pitcher and disposable cups. First Aid Kits were observed in each classroom in a backpack. There is an Emergency Survival Kit Bin kept sealed in the kitchen. All Fire extinguishers are full and green, smoke detector and carbon monoxide detector are operable. Trash cans have secure lids. Fire alarm pull switch observed inside the lobby by the front entrance.
Bathrooms: LPA inspected the children's bathrooms. There are two toilets, one regular sink, and one handwashing sink in each classroom, that are functioning properly and age appropriate there were no hazards. LPA observed soap, toilet paper, and paper towels readily available. Staff restrooms are in the hallway outside of the classroom.

Kitchen: There is a clean, fully equipped kitchen with refrigerator, freezer, convection oven, steamer, dishwasher, and four sinks. The facility provides breakfast, lunch, and afternoon snacks. Menus are posted. LPA observed allergy list posted in each classroom and inside the kitchen. LPA observed an appropriate amount of food and snacks. The chemicals are kept separate from the food. Cleaning supplies are key locked in the teacher closet inside each classroom.
Outside: Outdoor play equipment was inspected for health, safety, cushioning material, good repair and is age appropriate. LPA observed a large play structure with shade and a cushioned, rubber surface. It is securely anchored. There is a separate grass area and a separate shaded area with benches and tables. There are no bodies of water on the premises. Trash cans have lids.
Other: Children and staff files were reviewed. Current Pediatric CPR and First Aid Expires 2/25. Transportation is provided and medical policy reviewed. Disaster Drills: Fire/Earthquake current Fire: 6/10/24 and Earthquake 6/5/24 and Roster is current. Children are inspected for illnesses as they arrive. The children isolate inside the Director's office in a chair until parent can pick up the child. Staff/child ratios were observed to be compliant, sign in/out sheets are paper and show parents signatures. Facility representative was reminded to access the Licensing website at www.ccld.ca.gov. to obtain information about the most recent regulatory changes and the Quarterly Updates. Medications are stored in the Director’s office. A review of medication policy indicated that prescription medication is administered only with parent's written permission. The management staff administers medication and documents the dosage, date, and time onto a log. Medication is brought and taken home by the parents daily or stored in the Director’s office. Medication is properly labeled and stored in its original container. During the inspection there was a power outage for ten minutes and power was restored. All required posting were not on the wall but were corrected during the inspection.

Facility representative was reminded that all adults 18 and over, including employees and volunteers, except as specified in Health and Safety Code section 1596.871, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a Child Care Center. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day for a maximum of 5 days or, if the penalty is for a repeat violation, for a maximum of 30 days per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated. State law prohibits baby walkers, bouncy seats, exersaucers, or any other items that fall into that category.

Incidental Medical Services (IMS) policy was discussed. For IMS information see PIN 22-02- CCP. When any IMS is provided, an updated Plan of Operation that includes IMS must be submitted to the Department is anything changes. Assembly Bill (AB) 2370, Chapter 676, Statutes of 2018, requires all licensed Child Care
Centers (CCCs) constructed before January 1, 2010, to test their water (used for
drinking and food preparation) for lead contamination before January 1, 2023, and then every 5 years after the date of the first test. For childcare center licenses issued after July 1, 2022, the licensee shall test their water for lead within 180 days of licensure pursuant to Written Directives section 101700 (PIN 21-21.1-CCP).
