Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Justin Dorsey and Steven Montoya met with Lead Teacher, Maira Gutierrez and Assistant Teacher Felicia Young, today for the purpose of conducting a Required - Annual inspection. There were 21 children total present during today's inspection. Incidental Medical Services (IMS) were discussed. Facility is open Monday through Friday. There are two A.M. classes (8:00 A.M to 11:00 A.M.) and two P.M. classes (11:45 A.M. to 2:45 P.M.).

Furniture and equipment were inspected for age appropriateness, cleanliness and good repair. Telephone service was verified as well as heating, lighting, and ventilation. There are cubbies for children's belongings. LPA observed age appropriate toys and materials. Drinking water is available inside the classrooms in the form of a water fountain. Children do not nap. Disinfectants, cleaning solutions, medication and other items that are dangerous to children, were inspected for inaccessibility to children. They are kept locked in cabinet. Furniture and equipment are in good condition, free of sharp, loose, or pointed parts.

LPA observed 2 individual bathrooms in each classroom in working condition that are age appropriate. LPA observed soap, toilet paper and paper towels readily available. Staff use a separate bathroom located in the cafeteria across the playground. Fire extinguishers, smoke detectors and carbon monoxide detectors were observed to be in operable condition.

Incidental Medical Services (IMS) policy was discussed. For IMS information see Evaluator Manual – Regulation Interpretations and Procedures for Child Care Centers Sections 101173 and 101226. When any IMS is provided, an updated Plan of Operation that includes IMS must be submitted to the Department. Mandated reporter training for all staff needs to be taken between January and March 2022 for free at the following website: www.mandatedreporterca.com. Be sure to print out your certificate and keep it for your records.

Facility was evaluated in accordance to licensing laws and regulations to ensure the health and safety of children.

No deficiencies were cited during this inspection according to Title 22 Regulations.

LIC 9213- Notice of Site Visit was posted. Notice of Site Visit must remain posted for 30 consecutive days.

Outdoor play equipment was inspected for health, safety, cushioning material, good repair and age appropriateness. There is a large securely anchored play structure with wood chips underneath for cushioning and a shaded area with tables provided for rest. The area was observed to be free of debris. There are moveable bins with tight fitting covers. Drinking water is available in the form of a water fountain. LPA observed no bodies of water on the premises. Snacks are provided by the school cafeteria for both the A.M. and P.M. classes.

Per Teacher, there are currently no children with food allergies and LPA observed sign stating this. Storage containers for solid waste, including moveable bins shall have tight-fitting covers that are kept on, and in good repair. Weekly menu was observed. Chemicals and cleaning solutions are kept separate from the food. Care and supervision was evaluated to determine if the basic needs of children are met and appropriate. Fire/earthquake drills current. The parent board was reviewed and has all of the required forms posted. Sign in/sign out sheets are located in each classroom. The facility does not transport children. LPA observed staff member's current Pediatric CPR/First Aid certificate (exp. 11/2022).

Children are inspected for illnesses as they arrive. A review of medication policy indicated that only prescription medication is administered and only with parent's written permission. The school nurse is designated for administering medications if needed. There is a cot available for ill children.
