25 | Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Neal met with licensee, Jennifer Zirbes for the purpose of a Random inspection. This is a single story 4 bedroom, 2 bathroom home with kitchen, dining area, family room, backyard, child care room and garage. The garage is used for storage only and no child care activities are conducted there. Family members residing in the home include 2 adults (licensee and fiance') and 2 children. There were 7 child care children present during this inspection. Incidental Medical Services (IMS) was discussed.
Main care is provided in the child care room adjacent to the kitchen/dining area. Children use the bathroom located down the hallway on the left. Off limit areas include the all 4 bedrooms (key locked), master bathroom, the gated right side of the backyard and the garage (key locked). The washer is in the garage; The dryer is in the backyard (safety locked). The home was inspected inside and out for safety, comfort, cleanliness, telephone service, heating and ventilation, inaccessibility to poisons, detergents, cleaning compounds, medicines, and hazardous items that can pose a danger to children. Medicines are kept in an upper cabinet above the refrigerator or in the master bedroom, inaccessible to children. Sharp knives are stored above the kitchen cabinet. Cleaning compounds and detergents are stored in the kitchen in child locked cabinet under the sink and in the garage. Facility roster was observed current. Licensee has 5 chickens, 3 guinea pigs and 3 large dogs. Children play in the backyard. There is a dog run in the pad locked off limits section of the backyard. In the area accessible to children, there is a large play structure with a slide and swings with grass underneath and a small play structure with wood chips underneath for active play. There is a chicken coop in the corner of the play yard. Gate that leads to the front of home is pad locked. |
