25 | Licensing Program Analyst's (LPAs) Thompson-Miller and Lawson met with Licensee, Oluranti Lanre-Orepo who guided analyst on a tour of the facility for an Annual Random inspection. This is a two story 5 bedroom, 3 bathroom home with kitchen/dining, family room, living room, formal dining, laundry and garage. There is no pool/spa or body of water on the premises. Family members residing in the home include two adults (licensee, licensee spouse) and one child. Upon arrival LPAs observed 5 children (one infant and three pre-school and one school age), licensee assistant and licensee. Licensee is part of the Quality Start Program and Early Headstart program. LPAs observed 3 children napping and assistant engaged in quiet play with non-napping children. Hours of operation are Monday-Friday from 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM. Incidental Medical Services (IMS) policy was discussed.
Main care is provided in the living and formal dining rooms. Children use the bathroom on the right (go through the kitchen to hallway to access bathroom). Off limit areas include the entire upstairs (Bedroom #2 , #3, #4, #5, bathroom #2 and #3, laundry), Bedroom #1 (downstairs), garage and family room. Children eat in the kitchen area. There are gates between the kitchen and formal dining area (child care). The home was inspected inside and out for safety, comfort, cleanliness, telephone service, heating and ventilation, inaccessibility to poisons, detergents/cleaning compounds (up stairs), medicines (latched cabinet) and hazardous items (sharp knives top of refrigerator) that can pose a danger to children. Fire/earthquake drills complete and maintained current. Roster complete and maintained current. Stairs are barricaded and have a gate in the hallway. |
