25 | Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Thompson-Miller met with Licensee, Oluranti Lanre-Orepo who guided analyst on a tour of the facility for an One Year Inspection. This is a two story 5 bedroom, 3 bathroom home with kitchen/dining, family room, living room, formal dining, laundry and garage. There is no pool/spa or body of water on the premises. Family members residing in the home include three adults (licensee, licensee spouse, adult son) and one child. Upon arrival LPA observed 6 children (one infant and one pre-school and four school age), licensee assistant and licensee. Hours of operation are Monday-Friday from 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM. Incidental Medical Services (IMS) policy was discussed.
Physical Plant: The home is clean and orderly. The home entrance is through the front door. Main day care will be provided in the living, formal dining rooms and the family room (used for infants). Licensee is made aware that napping children are to be supervised. Children use the bathroom on the right (go through the kitchen to hallway to access bathroom). Off limit areas include the entire upstairs (Bedroom #2 , #3, #4, #5, bathroom #2 and #3, laundry), Bedroom #1 (downstairs) and garage. Children eat in the kitchen area. There are gates between the kitchen and formal dining area (child care). The home was inspected inside and out for safety, comfort, cleanliness, telephone service, heating and ventilation, inaccessibility to poisons, detergents/cleaning compounds (up stairs), medicines (upstairs) and hazardous items that can pose a danger to children.
Fire/earthquake drills complete and maintained current. Roster complete and maintained current. Stairs are barricaded and have a gate in the hallway.
The smoke detector and carbon monoxide detector are in operable condition. LPA observed the required fire extinguisher (2A10BC) is fully charged. There are no weapon/firearms in the home. The facility sketch is complete and there is a working telephone (land line and cell). |
