Licensing Program Analyst (LPA), Neal met with Administrator Maria Rodriguez today for the purpose of conducting an Annual/Required inspection of the infant center. Facility's hours are Monday through Friday, 6am to 6:30pm. They are closed on holidays. Present today were 2 infants and 1 teacher. There is also a preschool component and a school age component for this center. Incidental Medical Services (IMS) were discussed.

Furniture and equipment were inspected for age appropriateness, cleanliness and good repair. Telephone service was verified as well as heating, lighting, and ventilation. LPA observed age appropriate toys and materials. Infant component is separate from the preschool and school age components. Furniture and equipment were observed in good condition, free of sharp, loose, or pointed parts. LPA observed 8 cribs in the napping room. Per Administrator sheets are stored separate from each other and washed on Fridays. There is a refrigerator in the infant's eating room where bottles and containers of food are labeled with the infant's name and current date. Changing table, within arms reach of sink, is located in a room beside the playroom. Diapers are kept in labeled containers underneath the changing table. There are moveable, covered bins for solid waste. Disinfectants, cleaning solutions, medication and other items that are dangerous to children were observed to be inaccessible.

Administrator's First Aid/CPR certificate was observed and found current (Expires: 9/28/2020). LPA observed fire extinguishers, smoke detectors and carbon monoxide detectors in operable condition. First Aid kit is located in the kitchen. Children's allergy and medications lists are located in the kitchen. Indoor and outdoor play equipment was inspected for health, safety, cushioning material, good repair and age appropriateness as well as for hazards and inaccessibility to bodies of water. Infant's outdoor play area can be accessed through a door in the back of the infant center and is separated from the other play areas by gates. LPA observed age appropriate toys and cushioning material (wood chips).

Kitchen is located through the preschool classroom 1. High latch is on the door for inaccessibility. Cleaning solutions and disinfectants are kept locked under the sink in the kitchen. LPA observed medications in a lockbox in the refrigerator. Per administrator, she administers the medication to children. LPA observed kitchen food prep and storage areas to be clean, free of litter, rubbish and rodents and/or any other vermin. Storage containers for solid waste, including moveable bins were observed to have tight-fitting covers that are kept on and in good repair. Chemicals and cleaning solutions are kept separate from the food in the kitchen. Teacher/child ratio was observed to be within regulations. Fire/earthquake drills are current. A sample of children and staff files were reviewed. Mandated Reporter training for infant teacher teacher is current. Administrator was reminded that Mandated Reporter training must be completed every two years.
The parent board was reviewed and has all of the required forms posted. Sign in/out binder was observed. Sign in/sign out sheets are located in the lobby. Children are inspected for illnesses as they arrive. A review of medication policy indicated that only prescription medication is administered and only with parent's written permission. The administrator is designated to administer medications.

This facility provides Incidental Medical Services – IMS. LPA reviewed storage of medication and equipment/supplies, and reviewed children’s, personnel, and administrative records. The administrator was reminded to access the Licensing website at ccld.ca.gov to obtain information about the most recent regulatory changes, and for the Quarterly Updates. Licensee advised to regularly review Quarterly Updates. Facility was evaluated in accordance with licensing laws and regulations to ensure the health and safety of children.



No deficiencies were cited during this inspection.

LIC 9213- Notice of Site Visit was given. Notice of Site Visit must remain posted for 30 consecutive days. Failure to do so will result in an immediate civil penalty assessment of $100.
