Children are inspected (wellness check) for illnesses as they arrive. Medication is brought and taken home by the parent daily (prescription medication) or maintained in locked cabinet. Medication is properly labeled and stored in its original container. There is a separate area for isolation and care of ill children in the director office area.
The facility has 2 playground areas. The toddlers play in a gated area separated by a fence from the older children play area. Outdoor play equipment was inspected for health, safety, good repair and age appropriateness. There is sand and concrete area for active play. The area was observed to be free of debris. There is an area for shade (patio) and rest. Drinking water in a pitcher-Igloo and Dixie cups are available. Play area was inspected for hazards and inaccessibility to bodies of water. Outside play area is completely fenced.
There is a clean, fully equipped kitchen with refrigerator/freezer, microwave oven and stove. The facility provides breakfast, AM snack, lunch, PM snack, and evening snack. Menu is posted in the kitchen and on each classroom parent board. Allergy list is posted in the kitchen snacks. The chemicals are kept separate from the food (under kitchen sink-cabinet). |
