25 | Licensing Program Analysts Mabika met with Executive Administrator, Armanda Hernandez, today for the purpose of conducting an unannounced Annual/Random inspection for the Pre-School. There are 10 children present upon arrival with 3 teachers and 1 Aide and 1 classroom. Per licensee the hours of operation are 06.30 AM -05.00 PM, Monday -Friday. The Center also has an Infant and School-age component. This facility does not provides Incidental Medical Services (IMS).
LPA verified of the 3 teachers records sampled all have current CPR and First Aid training and additionally the Director's CPR 1st Aid/CPR expires on 01/2020.
*Snack and lunch are provided and menus are displayed, Allergy list were reviewed and posted. Food and snacks were reviewed for availability, quantity, proper storage, and appropriateness to children in care. Food preparation areas were toured for safety, cleanliness and proper equipment. (1 freezer 1 refrigerator, sink, stove/oven).
*Disinfectants, cleaning solutions, poisons and other items that are dangerous or hazardous were inaccessible to children and stored in kitchen locked cabinet.
* Room 5 (The Infant Classroom) was observed to be have its own bathroom and LPA noted 2 toilets 2, sinks and a changing station and all was in sanitary and operational condition. LPA observed soap, paper towel and toilet paper and water tested at a safe temperature. 12 napping mats and 7 cots were observed.
*All flooring was found to be clean and safe Director states carpets are cleaned daily.
**Teacher/child ratio observed, care and supervision was discussed, children's records were reviewed, parent board observed and fire drills are current. Fire extinguisher operable.
*Trash cans/storage containers for solid waste had tight-fitting covers that are kept on, and in good repair.
*First Aid supplies were inventoried, a review of medication policy, including administering, labeling, and storage. *Telephone service, heating, lighting and ventilation were evaluated. |
