25 | Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Babatunde Ibitoye met with licensee Norma Contreras. The purpose of the inspection is to conduct a Annual/Random Inspection. Licensee is licensed to provide care and supervision for a Large Family Child Care for a capacity of 14 children. There are currently 14 children enrolled in the family childcare. Present during the time of this inspection are the licensee,Licensee Husband and 5 daycare children, Per the licensee, all adults residing in the home have a Criminal Record Clearance. LPA toured the areas of the home utilized for the Family Child Care to ensure the home is in compliance with Community Care Licensing Title 22 Regulations. The days and hours of operation are Monday -Sunday (6 am to 5:30 am).
This is a single story 3 bedroom, 2 1/2 bathroom home with kitchen, dining, family room, office, formal dining room, living room, laundry room, playroom and no garage. The licensee states the Main care is provided in the playroom. Children use the bathroom in hallway next to the kitchen. There is a pocket door separating the kitchen and hallway on the left and another pocket door to enter the laundry room. Off limit areas include all Bedrooms (bedroom #1, #2,#3), bathroom #2 and #3, laundry room, office (at front entrance on the right). There is a fireplace located in the living room which is inaccessible to children a glass barrier locked.
The home was inspected inside and out for safety, comfort, cleanliness, telephone service, heating and ventilation, poisons, detergents/cleaning compounds, medicines, and hazardous items that can pose a danger to children, LPA observed all items are made inaccessible to children during the time of this inspection. LPA observed age-appropriate safe toys and napping equipment on the premises. Per the licensee, children nap in the class room. LPA observed all electrical outlets made inaccessible to children with safety covers. Per the licensee, there are no weapons or firearms on the premises. LPA did not observe a swimming pool or bodies of water on the premises. LPA observe the backyard which is clean and neat. The backyard is completely fenced. There are two dogs (stay in the rear of the home) offlimit. Licensee reminded to supervise child during outside play. There are Little Tikes play equipment, bicycles, octagon and cubby for children belongings.
