25 | On 3/27/2023 at 9:30am, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA), Vicky Williamson conducted an unannounced annual required inspection and met with Director, Juliann Scolari. LPA disclosed the purpose of the inspection and toured the facility indoors and outdoors. This program operates Monday through Friday, 7:00am to 5:30pm. The following ratios were observed: Room 1 had 11 children and (1) teacher, Room 2 had 12 children and two (2) teachers, Room 3 had 18 children with two (2) teachers and (1) staff, Room 4 (toddler option) had eight (8) children on the playground with three (3) teachers, Room 5 had 10 children on the playground with two (2) teachers, Room 7 had 11 children and one (1) teacher.
Furniture and equipment are in good condition. Playground equipment is in safe condition. The surface of the outdoor activity space is maintained in a safe condition and is free of hazards. The high-climbing equipment has soft cushioning. Toilet and hand-washing equipment are in safe and sanitary operating condition. Floors in the facility are clean and safe. Solid waste storage containers have tight-fitting covers and are in good repair. Children bring their own water bottles, however drinking water is available both indoors and outdoors. Children bring their own lunch and parents provide monthly snacks for the facility to distribute. Facility has a functioning carbon monoxide detector that meet statutory requirements. The last fire/disaster drill was conducted and documented 82/2022.
A review of staff records on this date indicates facility staff or other individuals who require caregiver background checks have received criminal record and child abuse clearances or exemptions. Director was reminded that all adults 18 and over responsible for administration or direct supervision of staff, persons who provides care and supervision to children, and staff who have contact with children, including employees and volunteers, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a Child Care Center. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day up to $500.00 maximum per day/per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated. |
