On 2/1/23 at 1:30pm, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA), Martha Malane conducted an unannounced annual inspection and met with Facility representative, Elizabeth Smith. At 2:35pm, Director, Paula Clairmont arrived at the facility. At 4:00pm, Owner, James Turner arrived at the facility. LPA disclosed the purpose of the inspection and was led on a tour of the facility. This is a full day program which operates year-round. Days and hours of operation are Monday – Friday 7:30am – 6:00pm. There were 50 children and six (6) staff members present.

Furniture and equipment are in good condition. Playground equipment is in safe condition. The surface of the outdoor activity space is maintained in a safe condition and is free of hazards. The area under high-climbing equipment and slides have cushioning to absorb falls. Toilet and hand-washing equipment are in safe and sanitary operating condition. Floors in the facility are clean and safe. Solid waste storage containers have tight-fitting covers and are in good repair. Drinking water is available both indoors and outdoors. Facility has a functioning carbon monoxide detector that met statutory requirements. The last fire/disaster drill was conducted and documented 1/11/23. Director stated there are no bodies of water on the premises. Director stated there are no firearms or ammunition allowed or stored on the premises. Disinfectants, cleaning solutions, medication and other hazardous items are made inaccessible. No poisons were observed.

Director was reminded that all adults 18 and over responsible for administration or direct supervision of staff, persons who provides care and supervision to children, and staff who have contact with children, including employees and volunteers, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a Child Care Center. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day up to $500.00 maximum per day/per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated. See LIC809D for deficiency cited as two (2) out of seven (7) staff members did not have a clearance transfer to this facility. See LIC809C continuation...
