25 | Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Vicky Williamson conducted a case management inspection for the purpose of addressing the facility's application to add an additional classroom to accommodate 8 toddlers ages 18-36 months. The facility's current capacity is 51 children and will remain the same. Fire clearance was granted on 03/13/20. LPA met with Director, Sally Gutierrez and proceeded to tour the facility. The hours of operation are 6:30 am - 6:00 pm, the facility is currently closed and there are no children present. Classrooms 1, 2, 3, 4 were measured and inspected. The total square footage for all four classrooms is 1,998 square feet which will be sufficient for a capacity of 51 children. Classroom 1 can accommodate 15 children. Classroom 2 can accommodate 14 children. Classroom 3 can accommodate 15 children. Classroom 4 can accommodate 10 children and will be used for the toddler option classroom. Classroom 5 will be used for napping only. The playground was previously measured at 4,400 square feet which is sufficient to accommodate 51 children. An area of the playground that is fully fenced and separated from the preschool playground was designated as the toddler playground area however the area measured 400 square feet and will not accommodate space for 8 toddlers. The director plans to extend the fence to make the toddler playground larger to accommodate 8 toddlers.
All classrooms are equipped with appropriate furniture including tables, chairs, cubbies, bookshelves, and other material for the children. The facility has a total of 5 toilets, 6 sinks exclusive for children's use, which is sufficient to accommodate the capacity. There is a separate restroom for staff located upstairs in the church office. Children's toilets and hand washing facilities are sanitary. Rooms are safe and clean. Drinking water is readily accessible inside and outside the classroom. All disinfectants, cleaning solutions, and other hazardous items are inaccessible to children through latches, locks or placed up on high surfaces. Outdoor play area is fenced with adequate material for cushioning. Area has canopies/trees used for shade. There were no bodies of water observed at the facility. Director states that there are no weapons at this facility. There is an operational smoke and carbon monoxide detectors at the facility.
