25 | On 6/25/2020 at 11:00 AM, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Keturah Lane, conducted an announced Case Management Inspection visit regarding two day care parents (same family) who tested positive for COVID-19. Due to COVID-19, a tele-inspection was conducted using FaceTime to tour the facility with Director Lauri O’Neil. There were some technical difficulties with the call and LPA switched remainder of visit to phone. Director stated she called Epidemiology department and was told at the time that she had done everything required. Director also called the Public Health Services number and left a detailed message. Director stated that she was notified by the County Health Department today (6/25/20) and that the child is to be isolated with the parents for 10 days from onset of parent symptoms which was 6/21/20 and symptom-free without medication for 3 days. Per health department, teachers do not have to be quarantined and Director was advised that she did not have to close the classroom or facility.
Director stated that the parents were last at the facility on 6/18/20 and tested positive for COVID-19 on 6/23/20. The family informed the Director of the positive tests on 6/23/20. Director contacted licensing via the duty line to report the incident on 6/24/20. The child was last in care on 6/18/20 and was dropped off by the mother in the morning and dad picked the child up. The children and staff member were with a stable group of 10 children.
On 6/24/20, Director had the classroom deeply sanitized at the beginning of the day before children arrived. The classroom was closed on 6/25/20 since none of the children in the group were in attendance. LPA Lane will continue to follow up with Director O’Neil on the facility's situation.
An exit interview was conducted with the Director. A Notice of Site Visit (LIC9213) and Appeal Rights (LIC9058) will be sent along with the report (LIC809) via e-mail to the Licensee. Licensee will confirm receipt of this report via e-mail and the reply of confirmation will serve as the signature acknowledging these rights. The Notice of Site Visit (LIC9213) must remain posted for 30 days. |
