25 | On 10/27/23 at 8:50am Licensing Program Analysts (LPA) Patrick Ma and Gerald Poindexter conducted an unannounced case management inspection for a room addition to license per request received on 9/5/23. Fire Inspection clearance was granted 10/12/23. Upon arrival, LPA’s were greeted by Facilities Manager, Dave Holland. Director was not on site yet and arrived at 9:15am. During the visit there were 20 children in care and 5 staff members. Facility was in ratio and capacity.
Facility is currently licensed for 53 children in rooms #1-4 located in the lower level and room #6 in the upper level. Facility is requesting to add room 7 in the upper level for flexible use such as a napping room or during inclement weather. A capacity increase was not requested. Room 7 measured a total of 846.6 sq. ft. The room was clean, with chairs stacked, tables folded and in good repair. The room also includes a kitchen that is off-limits for children and made inaccessible with a child safety gate. There is a corridor area with a blind spot that includes the bathroom and a door that leads to unsupervised outside areas. LPA advised a gate at the corridor entrance is require to ensure proper supervision of children prior to room addition.
Room 7 is approved for use after facility provides proof a child safety gate has been installed at the corridor area entrance. An updated license will be sent for posting after correction is made.
Exit interview conducted and report was reviewed with the facility representative Karen Garcia. A notice of site visit was given and must remain posted for 30 days. |
