13 | THIS IS AN AMENDED REPORT DELIVERED ON SEPTEMBER 17, 2024
On August 22, 2024, at 12:40 PM., Licensing Program Analyst, Sherlynn Banas conducted an unannounced complaint visit for the complaint received on June 19, 2024, regarding the allegation that child 1 was injured on the face due to lack of supervision. Licensee, Kelly Albanese was supervising by the fireplace and was in front of the child when the incident happened. Child 2 accidentally injured child’s face as he turned around. She immediately took the child to take care of him and asked the helper, to get ice to put it on the injured cheek. Licensee immediately moved the children away from each other. LPA interviewed reporting party, licensee, staff, child, and parents. Documents, text messages, and photos were received and reviewed by LPA to support the finding for the allegation. Throughout the course of investigation, several day care parents were interviewed, and the parents did not have any concerns with the way licensee supervised the children. There were 12 children at the time of inspection.
Although the allegation may have happened or is valid, there is not a preponderance of the evidence to prove that the alleged violation occurred, therefore the above allegation is found to be Unsubstantiated. Exit interview conducted and report was reviewed with the licensee, Kelly Albanese. A Notice of Site Visit was given and must remain posted for 30 days. Appeal Rights was also provided.
