25 | On 05/04/2023 at 9:00am, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) David Miller conducted an unannounced Annual Required Inspection and met with the Licensee Janet Buquet. LPA disclosed the purpose of the inspection and was granted facility entry by the Licensee. The licensee, staff (Jennifer Ludwick) and ten (10) daycare children (ten preschool aged children) were present in the facility during this inspection. This facility is a one story, five (5) bedroom, four (4) bathroom apartment. Licensee accompanied LPA during this inspection. The following areas are used for day-care: daycare room, bathroom, backyard. Off limits areas are made inaccessible to day care children through the use of latches and safety gates. Backyard pool is made inaccessible by fencing as specified by regulation.
The fire extinguisher and smoke/carbon monoxide detector met requirements. Hazardous items were observed inaccessible to children during this inspection. The licensee has available toys, play equipment and materials. Children play outside in the fenced frontyard. Licensee was reminded that continuous supervision is to be given to children whenever engaged in outdoor activities. The licensee has an in-ground pool that was fully fenced and meets current Regulations. Licensee stated there are no weapons in the home and LPA did not observe any firearms at the time of this inspection.
Licensee’s First Aid and CPR certifications expire in 01/13/2024. Licensee has required immunizations. Licensee completed the mandated reporter training on 01/19/2022 and 01/25/2022. The facility roster is maintained and was reviewed. The last fire and disaster drills were conducted and documented on 04/18/2023.
Licensee was reminded that all adults 18 and over living or working in the home, including employees and volunteers, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a licensed Family Child Care Home. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day up to $500.00 maximum per day/per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated. |
