25 | On 2/26/20 at 9:45am, Licensing Program Analysts (LPAs), Tyra Block and Joelle Redding, made an unannounced visit for the purpose of a random annual inspection. During this visit there were 110 children with 15 staff as follows: Room 1:11 children with one teacher; Room 2: 10 children with two teachers; Room 3 (Day care room): 19 children with three teachers; Room 4 (storage): Room 5: 12 children with two teacher; Room 6: 12 children with one teacher; Room 7: 12 children with two teachers; Room 9: 12 children with one teacher; Room 10: 10 children with one teacher; and Room 11: 12 children with two teachers. Facility is within ratio and capacity. Program operates Monday thru Friday from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m.
LPAs toured the facility. Furniture and age appropriate equipment is in good condition. Rooms have adequate heating, lighting, ventilation. Drinking water is readily accessible. Bathrooms are maintained with operational toilets and faucets with appropriate temperature. Paper towels and toilet paper are available. Bathroom is lighted and has ventilation. Food service area consists of a kitchen which is clean and free of hazards. Menu is posted. Adequate food is available for meals. Cleaning supplies are kept separate from food. Medications are kept in Room 3, inaccessible to children. All hazardous items are stored where they are inaccessible to children. The outdoor play area is fenced and has sufficient cushioning under and around play structures, swings and slides. There are no firearms/weapons on premises and no bodies of water. There is no evidence of rodent or insect activity. The carbon monoxide detectors are operational. Staff have required immunization, current CPR/ First Aid certification, and Mandated Reporter Training. Sign in/out sheets were reviewed. LPA observed appropriate supervision in and out of the classroom. A sample of children's records were reviewed for admission’s agreements. A review of staff records on this date indicates that all facility staff or other individuals who require caregiver background checks have received criminal record and child abuse clearances or exemptions and are qualified.
This facility provides Incidental Medical Services – IMS. LPA reviewed storage of medication and equipment/supplies, and reviewed children’s, personnel, and administrative records.
