25 | Licensing Program Analysts (LPA) Samantha Salunga and Michael Morales-DeSilvestore visited the facility for the purpose to conduct an annual random inspection. Upon arrival LPA's met with Director, Anita Hill and proceeded to tour the facility. Purpose of this visit is to also inspect the Social Hall, which facility has requested to temporarily use for the toddler option children (18-36 months) due to Room #2 sustaining a flood and will be under construction for approximately 2-3 weeks (per Director). There were a total of 70 children with a total of 12 staff members present during inspection. Appropriate ratios and capacity were observed. Furniture and age appropriate equipment is in good condition indoors and outdoors. Children's toilets and hand washing facilities are sanitary. Rooms are safe and clean. Drinking water is readily accessible inside and outside the classroom via water jugs and/or drinking fountain. All disinfectants, cleaning solutions, and other hazardous items are inaccessible to children through latches and locks. Outdoor play area is fenced with adequate material for cushioning. Area has canopies/trees used for shade. There are no bodies of water or weapons at this facility. No excluded individuals are present. Facility conducted and documented an earth quake drill from the previous school year, 06/04/2019. There is an operational carbon monoxide detector at the facility. First Aid/CPR reviewed and in compliance. Sign in/sign out sheets are well maintained. Admission Agreement forms reviewed for some children. Staff records contain documentation of education, training, and/or experience. All personnel that provide care and supervision to children have completed the Mandated Child Abuse Reporting-per AB1207. LPA's reviewed certification and is in compliance. Immunization records per SB792 was reviewed and in compliance. LPA's reviewed the following with Director: health and nutrition handout, lead exposure information, and unusual incident report. Director was reminded that corporal punishment and smoking are not allowed in the day care. Director was also reminded to keep all items that read “keep out of reach of children” physically inaccessible to children in care and all equipment that is used should be used only as intended by the manufacturer. LPA's obtained updated children's roster, LIC610, emergency drill log, and LIC500. |
