Licensing Program Analyst (LPA), Andrea Taylor conducted an annual inspection as part of a compliance review. LPA measured added space for a requested increase in capacity from 56 to 72 children. This is a combination childcare center and the other licensed program is an infant program which was also inspected on this date. A tour of the inside and outside of the facility was granted and the following was observed and/or noted:

· The following items were posted and updated where necessary:
- License
- Emergency Disaster Plan (LIC610) and Earthquake Preparedness Checklist (LIC9148)
- Parent’s Rights Poster (PUB393)
- Personal Rights (LIC613A)
- Child Car Seat Law
- Menu
· The facility is operating within the limits as stated on the license.
· Ratios are being met during this inspection
· Classrooms are adequately equipped with age and size appropriate furniture and equipment and free of hazards
· There are no weapons present at the facility as stated by Rosemary Fisher
· There are no accessible bodies of water present. All wading pools or similar product must be emptied immediately after use and stored in an upright position.
· Drinking water is provided in the indoor activity space by sports bottles brought from home and refilled as needed from the sink faucet - and in the outdoor activity space by sports bottles brought from home and refilled as needed from sink faucet - and in the outdoor activity space

· Medications are stored where inaccessible to children
· Hazardous items are stored where inaccessible to children which include: Disinfectants, cleaning solutions and other items that are dangerous
· Poisons and toxins are locked and inaccessible to children
· All floors were observed to be clean and safe
· Bathrooms were observed to be safe, sanitary and in operating condition
· Playgrounds are enclosed by appropriate fences and free of hazards
· Outdoor activity areas are supplied with age and size appropriate equipment in good condition
· Food preparation area is clean, free of litter and rubbish and free of rodents and other vermin
· Food is stored appropriately and protected from contamination
· All storage containers for solid waste were observed to have tight-fitting covers that are kept on, and in good repair
· Sign in/Sign out record was reviewed and meets regulation requirements
· Disaster drills are conducted at least every six months – last drill conducted on 2/2/22 Got a new alarm and are planning a drill with the new alarm.
A review of staff and children's records were conducted as part of this evaluation.
· Children’s records were found to be complete during this inspection.
· Staff records review indicates that all staff present meet minimum qualifications for the position for which they were hired.

LPA discussed the safe sleep regulations with licensee [or facility representative] and discussed the Child Care Licensing Safe Sleep web page at https://www.cdss.ca.gov/inforesources/child-care-licensing/public-information-and-resources/safe-sleep as an additional resource. LPA also informed licensee [facility representative] of the importance of checking for recalled infant devices on the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) website at https://www.cpsc.gov/ and recommended they register all infant devices with the CPSC to be notified of any recalls on their purchased equipment.

Licensee [or facility representative] was reminded that all adults 18 and over, including employees and volunteers, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a Child Care Center. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day up to $500.00 maximum per day/per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated.

LPA inspected the added spaces for the requested increase. There are 4 spaces added. The indoor activity space is to 12 children increase. There are enough sinks and toilets for 75 children.
The outdoor space is large enough for the increase in capacity.

An increase of 14 children is granted for the preschool license. Total capacity is 70 children.

The licensee/director was asked to update the following documents, if applicable, and submit to licensing within 30 days:
1. LIC 500 Personnel Report
2. LIC 610 Emergency & Disaster Plan
3. LIC 308 Designation of Administrative Responsibility

There are no deficiencies being cited at this time.
