LPA, Luigi Gargaro, conducted an unannounced inspection visit to the facility today for an increase in capacity and room addition that was requested by the facility for its before and after school programs. Analyst met with supervisor Megan Holtan and toured the classrooms and other child care areas with the analyst.

The facility, which is currently conducting their program in classroom #18, the auditorium, and the library/media room area submitted an application to increase the capacity to 125 and add classroom #1 to the program. During today's visit, analyst found eleven children being supervised in classroom #18 by teacher Miguel Morales, thirty children being supervised in the auditorium by teachers Andrea Morales, Karis Bailey and Adhara Rios, and twenty-five children under the supervision of teachers Zulema Tirado and Isabella Zazueta in the outdoor cafeteria tables that are included as part of the facility's outdoor space areas. All children were seen to be doing play or schoolwork activities during analyst's visit.

Analyst inspected both classrooms during today's visit. Both rooms had appropriate, furniture, equipment and materials for school age children. All equipment was found to be in good condition. Disinfectants, cleaning solutions, and other items that are dangerous to children, are inaccessible via placement in high or locked storage cabinets. Analyst also inspected the other for use areas of the auditorium and the library/media room area as well as the outdoor cafeteria table area. All areas appeared safe and did not have any hazard concerns. Analyst reviewed staff files during today's visit but was unable to review children's records.

The facility is clean, safe, sanitary, and in good repair at all times to ensure the safety and well-being of children, employees and visitors. Dedicated restrooms (two single bathrooms and a separate boys and girls bathroom) are located on the elementary school campus directly by the program and are for sole use for the after school program. Restrooms were sanitary and safe for use. Drinking water is available both indoors and out with the use of in classroom and outdoor fountains and portable water jugs and cups.

Medication is kept in drawstring backpack that is kept inaccessible in classroom and brought with children whenever conducting any activities. For IMS information see Evaluator Manual - Regulation Interpretations and Procedures for Child Care Centers Sections 101173 and 101226.The following information regarding ADA was provided: US Department of Justice (USDOJ) toll-free ADA Information Line at (800) 514-0301 (voice)/ (800) 514-0383 (TTY) and link to publication: Commonly Asked Questions about Child Care Centers and the ADA, available at: http://www.ada.gov/childqanda.htm.
