25 | Covid-19 State of Emergency
On July 7, 2020 at 2:30 p.m. Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Leilani Curtis conducted an unannounced Case Management Inspection via Zoom in reference to the sister of a day care child who tested positive for COVID-19. LPA met with Director Barbara Radi and proceeded to tour the facility. There were no children or staff members present.
The Director stated that the day care child’s sister does not attend the facility and has not been to the facility since the facility closed due to Covid-19 on March 16, 2020. The facility reopened on May 4, 2020. The child’s sister was diagnosed positive for Covid-19 on Tuesday, June 30, 2020. The family informed the Director of the positive test result on July 1, 2020. The child was last in care on Monday, June 29, 2020. The child was tested for Covid-19 on June 30, 2020 and the result came back negative on July 1, 2020. The child and two staff members were with a stable group of 10 children.
Director Radi states that she has notified the Department of Public Health, staff and all parents with children enrolled at the facility of the Covid-19 exposure. The child is self-quarantining at home for 14 days to avoid any possible transmission as advised by the San Diego County Department of Public Health. The entire facility was cleaned and sanitized. Additional cleaning measures were undertaken to clean and disinfect the child’s individual space as well as shared space.
LPA emailed Covid-19 resources to the Director including links to the California Department of Public Health (CDPH), Local County Public Health Department, Center for Disease Control (CDC) and the California Department of Social Services (CDSS) webpage where Provider Information Notices (PIN’s) can be found. |
