25 | Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Samantha Salunga visited the facility for the purpose to conduct an annual random inspection. Upon arrival LPA met with Director, Nancy Da Silva, and proceeded to tour the facility inside and outside. There were a total of 43 children during time of inspection with 6 staff members. The gym is also available for indoor recreation. The facility offers 2 half day programs from Monday, Wednesday and Friday or Tuesday and Thursday 8:45am-11:45am or 11:15am-2:15pm Monday, Wednesday and Friday.
Appropriate ratios and capacity were observed. Furniture and age appropriate equipment is in good condition indoors and outdoors. Children's toilets and hand washing facilities are sanitary. Rooms are safe and clean. Food service area consists of a kitchen which is clean and free of hazards. There is an operational drinking fountain and grounds are free of debris or potential hazards. The facility menu is posted, and adequate food is available for snacks. The children bring their lunches from home. Isolation area is the Director’s office. Drinking water is readily accessible inside and outside the classroom. All disinfectants, cleaning solutions, and other hazardous items are inaccessible to children through latches and locks. Outdoor play area is fenced with adequate material for cushioning. Area has canopies/trees used for shade. There are two pools on site which are gated with chain linked fences with mesh over a majority of the fence. The fencing that divides the pool and where the children play consist of mesh fencing over the chain linked fence and chain linked fence that has smaller opening where a golf ball cannot fit in making the fence un-climbable. Director states that the child care children do not utilize the pool. The last fire drill was conducted and documented on 05/24/2019. There is an operational carbon monoxide detector at the facility. First Aid/CPR reviewed and in compliance. Sign in/sign out sheets are well maintained. Admission Agreement forms reviewed for some children. Staff records contain documentation of education, training, and/or experience. Immunization records per SB792 and Mandated Reporter Training per AB1207 was reviewed and in compliance. |
