25 | On 7/27/21 at 9:45 a.m., Licensing Program Analysts, Joelle Redding and Annette Sutherland, met with Director Matthew Proctor, for the purpose of an unannounced annual inspection. There were 86 children present as follows: Room #3: 12 children with two teachers; Room #4: 8 children with two teachers; Room #5: 9 children with three teachers; Room #6: 10 children with three teachers; Room #7: 10 children with two teachers; Room #8: 10 children with a teacher and an Aide; Room #10: 9 children with two teachers and an Aide; Room #11: 12 children with two teachers and Room #12: 6 children with a teacher and an Aide. The facility is within ratio and capacity. Program operates Monday thru Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
LPA toured the facility. The furniture, books, games and toys are safe, age-appropriate and in good repair. Rooms were a comfortable temperature during this visit. No hazards were noted. All storage containers and trashes have tight fitting lids and are in good repair. There is a kitchen which is clean and sanitary with all food stored properly, per regulation. Menus are posted. Children bring their own lunches. Snacks are provided. Hand washing and toileting areas are in a safe, sanitary and operating condition. Medications are kept in a safe place, inaccessible to children. Poisons, disinfectants, cleaning solutions and other items that are dangerous to children have been made inaccessible. There is no evidence of rodent or insect activity. Outdoor play area is fully fenced with sufficient cushioning and adequate shade. Playground equipment and outdoor surfaces are in a safe condition No hazards were noted. Portable water is used outdoors. There are no bodies of water, firearms or ammunition on the property. The carbon monoxide detector is operational in each room. LPA reviewed, sign in/out sheets, a sample of personnel records for a health screening and on-the-job training. A sample of children's records for emergency information and a medical assessment. Children are evaluated upon entry and monitored throughout the day for signs of illness. The isolation are for ill children awaiting pick up is Room #1 or the Director's office. There are several staff present with current CPR and First Aid certification. SB 792 (staff immunizations) and AB 1207 (Mandated Reporter Training) requirements have been met.
