25 | On 7/11/2023 at 10:55 a.m., Licensing Program Analyst (LPA), Joelle Redding, met with Part Day Program Director, Kelly Perez, for the purpose of an unannounced annual inspection. Although the part day program ended at the end of June, there is a two week summer camp for the part day children from 7/10 thru 7/21. Full day Director Debi Carr was on vacation today. There were 28 children present with four teachers for the summer camp and 45 children in the full day program as follows: Pooh Bear Room: 10 children with two teachers; Teddy Bear room: 12 children with two teachers; Polar Bear roomr: 11 children with two teachers and Panda Bear room: 12 children with two teachers. Facility is within ratio and capacity.
LPA toured the facility. The rooms were clean, orderly and a comfortable temperature during this visit. Adequate ventilation and heating are available. The furniture, books, games and toys are safe, age-appropriate and in good repair. There are a variety of activities available throughout the day. All required forms were posted. All storage containers and trashes containing solid waste have tight fitting lids and are in good repair. Children bring their own food. Napping equipment is sufficient for each child, bedding is stored separately, and mats are disinfected after use. Facility has ensured that there is adequate space between mats for easy passage and they are not blocking entrances or exits. No napping in the part day program.
Hand washing and toileting areas are in a safe, sanitary and operating condition. Any waste water used to clean is being discarded after use. Medications are kept centrally located in the Director's office for full day and the kitchen for part day, inaccessible to children. Poisons, disinfectants, cleaning solutions and other items that are dangerous to children have been made inaccessible. There is no evidence of rodent or insect activity. Outdoor play area is fully fenced with sufficient cushioning and adequate shade. Age appropriate playground equipment and outdoor surfaces are in a safe condition with any equipment securely bolted to the ground. Portable water is used outdoors.
