25 | On 2/11/21 at 3:00 PM, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Keturah Lane conducted an announced Pre-Licensing tele-inspection due to COVID-19 for relocation/capacity increase with the applicants. LPA Lane met with applicants Veronica Castillon and Jennifer Tachiquin. Also present in the home at time of inspection was applicant’s minor son. The one-story home was toured and inspected to ensure an environment safe for the care and supervision of children. The fire extinguisher, carbon monoxide detector, and smoke detector meet requirements and are operational. All hazardous items were latched/locked and secured out of reach of children. There are no bodies of water in the home. Applicant states that there are no weapons in the home. Applicants own the home. The home appears to be large enough to comfortably accommodate 14 children. Fire clearance was received on 1/26/21. CPR and First Aid expire in May of 2022. Preventative Health course was completed on 6/25/2019. Applicants completed Lead Poison prevention training on 2/10/21. A review of staff records on this date indicates that all facility staff or other individuals who require caregiver background checks have received criminal record and child abuse clearances or exemptions. Staff immunization requirements were met. Applicants have completed Mandated Reporter Training. Children’s records were reviewed and found to be in order.
Applicants will be using the following rooms for childcare: living room, dining room, kitchen, family room, bathroom #1, bathroom #2, third bathroom accessible from back yard and the quarantine bedroom. Off-limits areas include: Master bedroom/bath, bedroom #1, bedroom #2 and hallway next to garage and are inaccessible through the use of safety gates and door-knob covers. The garage will also be off-limits and is kept inaccessible through the use of safety gates and door-knob cover. The applicants have toys and equipment available. The home has a fully fenced backyard available for outdoor activities and two storage sheds that are locked. Outdoor trash bin area is enclosed and locked. Parents enter through side entry of the house next to family room area. Parents do not enter the facility due to COVID-19. (Continued on LIC809-C...) |
