25 | On 12/28/2020 at 9:30am, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Samantha Salunga conducted an announced Pre-Licensing virtual inspection with Applicants, Elena Juarez and Carol Burkhart. Due to COVID-19 state of emergency, this inspection was completed via video conferencing (FaceTime). Purpose of this inspection is to virtually tour and inspect all areas for child care to ensure an environment safe for the care and supervision of children. A follow-up on site inspection will have to be conducted to measure all indoors and outdoor play areas. The Preschool Program will operate in Rooms 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 & 8. First Aid Kit and any medication is kept in the kitchen. Fire clearance was granted on 10/14/2020.
All rooms and outdoor play areas were inspected during tele inspection. Age-appropriate supplies and equipment were observed available in all indoor and outdoor activity space. There are a total of 9 toilets and 9 sinks available for the children. There is a separate staff restroom and staff lounge. There is a kitchen equipped with a refrigerator and toaster oven. Isolation area for ill children is in the Director's office and isolation bathroom is the staff bathroom. Cleaning supplies and other toxins are inaccessible to children through latches, locks and/or placed on high surfaces. Drinking water is readily accessible via water bottles and refillable pitchers. Personnel files be reviewed during on site inspection to ensure that the staff utilized as preschool teachers are qualified. Both applicant's were reminded to keep anything that reads, “Keep Out of Reach of Children” inaccessible to children. An operational carbon monoxide detector is located in the kitchen.
