25 | On 02/04/2021 at 9:20am, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA), Samantha Salunga conducted a follow-up on site case management inspection to measure all indoor and outdoor play space. Upon arrival, LPA met with Elena Juarez (Director) and Carol Burkhart (Administrator). Due to COVID-19 restrictions, on 12/28/2020, LPA conducted a virtual pre-licensing tele inspection of the facility and observed all areas to be in compliance with Title 22. On 12/29/2020, LPA granted facility a 90 day provisional license (expires 03/01/2021) pending indoor and outdoor measurements. The Preschool Program operates in the following rooms: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 & 8. Fire clearance was granted on 10/14/2020. All indoor and outdoor activity space utilized for the children was inspected and measured today. During this inspection, LPA observed a total of 46 children with a total of 7 staff. Appropriate ratio and capacity was observed along with visual supervision.
Total indoor activity space measured at approximately 5,301.2 sq. ft., which will accommodate a total of 151 children. Outdoor play area (located directly across all classrooms) measured at approximately 11,363.18 square feet, which will accommodate no more than 151 children at one time. Outdoor area is fenced, however, some areas of the fencing is shy of 4 ft. There are trees and shades, age appropriate play equipment, and sufficient cushioning (sand/wood chips/grass) to sustain a fall.
The square footage for all indoor and outdoor play space is sufficient for the requested capacity of 84 children. A regular license for 84 children (ages 2-K) may be granted after facility ensures that the outdoor playground fencing is 4 ft. in the areas that are shy of it. Ms. Juarez and Ms. Burkhart stated that they will fix all areas that are shy of 4 ft. and will provide LPA corrections via pictures no later than 02/25/2021. Exit interview was conducted with Ms. Juarez and Ms. Burkhart. This report shall be kept available at the facility for public review for 3 years. |
