25 | On 04/05/2021 at 2pm, Licensing Program Analyst, Samantha Salunga, conducted an announced Pre-Licensing inspection. LPA met with Kristen Gonzalez (Program Manager) and Heather Ballard (Site Director). Ms. Ballard meets qualification requirements with the exception of the administration course which will need to be completed 12 months from the date of licensure. The School-Age Program will operate in the following classrooms: art room, multi-purpose room, music room and library. Fire clearance was granted on 03/23/2021. Facility is exempt from indoor and outdoor square footage per Title 22, sections 101538.2(c) and 101538.3(c). No measuring of any sort was conducted today. LPA inspected all indoor and outdoor play space. Age-appropriate toys, supplies and equipment were observed available in all indoor and outdoor activity space. There are two playground areas that are fenced and consists of grass, rubber matting, blacktop, and cement. There are tress and canopies used for shade. There are toilets and sinks throughout the facility which allows individual privacy. Toilet facilities are located left of the multi-purpose room and outdoor playground area. Toilet facilities shall not be utilized simultaneously by child of both sexes. There is a separate staff restroom which is also utilized as the isolation restroom. There is an operational carbon monoxide detector located in the multi-purpose room. First Aid Kit and medications are kept in the office. Isolation area is located in the office. Cleaning supplies and other toxics are inaccessible to children through latches, locks and/or placed on high surfaces. Drinking water is readily accessible via water stations and the children are to bring their own water bottles. Extra water bottles will be present for emergencies. Ms. Gonzalez and Ms. Ballard were reminded to keep anything that reads, “Keep Out of Reach of Children” inaccessible to children. This facility plans to provide Incidental Medical Services – IMS. For IMS information see Evaluator Manual – Regulation Interpretations and Procedures for Child Care Centers Sections 101173 and 101226. A Plan of Operation that includes IMS was submitted for epi-pen, inhaler, and blood glucose monitoring.
