There is a staff restroom located near the front area of the building. The Director's office and staff restroom will be the isolation area for children who are ill. There is an operational carbon monoxide detector on site located in the bathroom between the Roots B, Buds and Stems classrooms. Sign-in area is located in the front entryway. Applicant was reminded to keep anything that reads, “Keep Out of Reach of Children” to be inaccessible to children. Applicant is reminded that any changes to the facility must be reported to and approved by Community Care Licensing. When LPA inspected the outdoor playground, LPA observed several trees and canopies used for shade. Area is fenced, has age appropriate play equipment, and sufficient turf/rubber matting for cushioning under the slides and climbing structures. Drinking water is readily accessible via water bottles and refillable water station.
This facility plans to provide Incidental Medical Services – IMS. Applicant states she understands that all staff must have a criminal record clearance and be associated to the facility prior to having a presence in the Center. Child Care Providers can now sign up for Quarterly Updates and PINS through the DSS website. Please go to www.ccld.ca.gov and click on “Receive Important Updates,” then enter your email address and choose which program you would like to subscribe to and click subscribe. LPA also shared and reviewed Playground Safety Handbook, Risk in Play article, YMCA Childcare Resource Service, Helping Young Children Cope with Disaster, Active Supervision Handout, and COVID-19 Early Care and Education handout.
Prior to licensure, the following is needed:
- Complete and submit the COVID-19 self-assessment guide
- Obtain preschool and toddler playground waivers
- Extend the fence on top of the chick coop dividing the preschool and toddler outdoor play space
- Install and/or obtain cubbies to store in each classroom for the children’s belongings
- Place a toddler sign in one of the stall bathrooms located adjacent to the toddler classroom
