25 | On 03/03/2022, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Samantha Clenista conducted an unannounced case management site inspection. Upon arrival, LPA met with CFO, Hannah Lott-Schwartz. This facility houses a preschool program in addition to the school age program. Purpose of this visit was to address facility's request to update what rooms are used for which program. Facility requested that school age children only be in the Oak room. Room measures at 306.63 sq. ft. which is sufficient for 8 children. Facility also requested that the Oak room be a shared space between both programs at different times. Due to limited indoor square footage, there can only be a maximum of 8 children in the Oak room. LPA informed Ms. Lott-Schwartz that a decrease of capacity (from 24 to 8 children) application shall be submitted to CCL. A waiver to have the Oak room shared between the two programs along with a schedule shall also be submitted to CCL. At no time shall preschoolers and school-agers occupy the Oak room at the same time. LPA inspected the facility upon arrival and observed 18 children present with 3 staff members playing outdoors. LPA observed the Oak room to have two separate closets, one having a sign for preschoolers and the other for school agers. Both closets contain age appropriate play equipment and activities. There are no changes with regards to the outdoor play. A waiver was previously issued to allow sharing of outdoor play with the preschool children. There is a bathroom between the Oak room and director's office that has 1 sink and 1 toilet, which Ms. Lott-Schwartz requested it be shared with the preschool children since it also provides privacy. LPA informed Ms. Lott-Schwartz that a bathroom waiver will need to be submitted and approved prior to licensure. Prior to licensure, a shared activity space (along with schedule) and bathroom waiver shall be submitted to CCL and approved. No deficiencies were cited today. No deficiencies were cited today. NOTICE OF SITE VISIT IS TO BE POSTED FOR 30 DAYS. LPA observed Ms. Lott-Schwartz post notice of site visit. |
