Upon arrival, LPA met with Director Jaime Groll and proceeded to tour the facility. The following ratios were observed in the two infant classrooms: Infant classroom had 6 infants supervised teachers Kenya Nelson and Parivash Khosraviani. Toddler classroom had 7 toddlers supervised by teachers Tiffany Visperas-Chavis aka Reyes and Adoracion Dizon. Appropriate ratio was observed during the inspection. Furniture and age appropriate equipment is in good condition. Rooms have adequate heating, lighting, ventilation and drinking water is available for the children. Storage cubbies are readily available, and room accommodates class size. Napping equipment consists of cribs for young infants and cots for the older infants. The changing table is located next to the sink. Food service area consists of a kitchen which is clean and free of hazards. Menu is posted. Cleaning supplies are kept out of reach of children. Outdoor play area is a fenced playground with wood chips as cushioning. Area has a tarp and canopy structure used for shade. Equipment is age appropriate for the children in care. LPA reviewed sign in sheets, first aid supplies and reviewed medication policy and storage, all areas are within compliance. Isolation area is the Director's office. Personnel and client records were reviewed. An updated needs and service plan are in most of the infants files. Reporting requirements was also reviewed and all staff members completed the required mandated online child abuse training. All staff members have the required immunizations. All personnel have required criminal record and child abuse index clearances or exemptions. Facility has numerous staff members with a valid EMSA approved CPR/FA certificates. LPA reviewed Emergency Disaster Plan and last fire drill was conducted on 12/10/2019. Facility has an operating carbon monoxide detector.

This facility provides Incidental Medical Services – IMS. LPA reviewed storage of medication and equipment/supplies, and reviewed children’s, personnel, and administrative records. Licensee representative was reminded that corporal punishment, smoking, exersaucers, bouncy seats, walkers, and jumpers are not allowed in day care. Licensee was provided with information about Heat Related Illness, Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS), Never Shake a Baby, Safe sleep for infants, best practice on supervision and reporting responsibilities were discussed. The ABC’S of Safe Sleep: Sleep is Safest: Alone, on their Back in an empty Crib on a firm mattress.

Child Care Providers can now sign up for Quarterly Updates and PINS through the DSS website at www.ccld.ca.gov. LPA discussed California Megan's Law and LPA provided: www.meganslaw.ca.gov.

Facility appears to be in substantial compliance during today's inspection.

A notice of site visit was provided and to be posted at the facility for 30 days. Failure to keep notice posted will result in a civil penalty of $100.00.
