On 04/29/21 at 1:00 p.m., Licensing Program Analyst (LPA), Rajani Goudreau conducted a virtual inspection with Director, Kristen Cobb in order to provide technical assistance. During the visit there were 90 children in care with 11 staff members. The facility is within Ratio/Capacity limitations. Due to COVID-19 State of emergency a Temporary Capacity waiver was granted on April 14,2021 for the facility to care for 24 school age children; ages 5 through 12 years old at the above address. The facility operates Monday through Friday from 6:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.

The fire clearance on file was granted on April 12, 2021 for 134 children, including the 24 school age.

Drop off and pick up will take place near the front of the facility. Children will be signed in and out by their authorized representative at time of drop off and pick up. Health checks of staff and children will take place at time of arrival and throughout the day, if needed. The isolation area is located in the directors’ office and the isolation restroom is located in the hallway of facility, if a child becomes ill while in care. Children's authorized representatives will be contacted immediately for pick up, if a child becomes ill. The Department of Public Health shall be contacted regarding any COVID-19 illness or exposure.

Children shall remain in groups as small as possible. Should the State cohort guidance differ from local health ordinances, the facility shall follow the stricter guidance. Age appropriate furniture including tables and chairs and are present in classroom #7 to meet the needs of the children in care. Meals will be provided by the facility. Drinking water will be available during indoor and outdoor activities by the use of refillable water jugs and disposable cups. There are two sinks available for the children’s use located in the classroom. Children will utilize the restroom located in the classroom containing one sink and one toilet.

The designed outdoor play area adjacent to the classroom, including a large fenced playground area. The outdoor space contains a canopy for shade. The facility will maintain children’s file including emergency authorization cards and waiver acknowledgement forms signed by the children’s authorized representatives. LPA informed facility representative, there shall be at least one on-site staff member with a current Pediatric

First Aid and CPR certificate during the hours of the program operation. All childcare areas, including the outdoor play area will be cleaned and sanitized daily and as often as necessary following the facility’s cleaning and sanitation policies.

LPA discussed the terms and conditions of the waiver. The director acknowledges understanding of the terms and conditions of the temporary waiver and will adhere to the Public Health guidelines and directives.

Community Care Licensing will provide on-going technical support (TA) to the facility. Please feel free to contact the San Diego Child Care Office at (619) 767-2248.

No deficiencies issued during today’s visit. LPA conducted an exit interview with the director. The following was discussed and will be provided to the director: LIC809, Appeal Rights and Notice of Site Visit. The Notice of Site Visit shall be posted for 30-days from today’s date. COVID-19 State of emergency read receipt notification will be used in place of the directors signature.
