25 | On 09/23/2020 at 3:15PM, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Elise Read conducted an announced case management inspection for the purpose of a room change and capacity decrease. LPA met with Director Virginia Pinkerton, preschool teacher Tere Hanna, and elementary school Principal Liz Loether. The facility was previously operating in classroom 4, but has requested to change classrooms to begin operating in classroom 22. Facility has also requested a capacity change from 25 to 24 children. At this time, the facility is operating using distance learning, but will be returning to in person learning in the future.
Fire clearance was granted on 02/28/2020.
Room 22 measures at 824.41 sq ft, sufficient for 23 children.
The new outdoor play area measures at 6063.61 sq ft, sufficient for 80 children.
The bathroom is located in room 20. Children are to be escorted and supervised by staff to and from the bathroom and direct visual observation is required. The preschool children will have exclusive use of the bathroom. There are two toilets and one sink in the bathroom. There is an additional sink accessible to the children in the classroom. The toilets and sinks are sufficient for 30 children.
First Aid Kit is kept above the sink in the classroom. Medications will be stored in the elementary school office. At this time, the facility does not have any children who need medications. Isolation area is located in the school nurse's office, which includes a toilet and a sink that can be used for isolated children.
The room is complete with age-appropriate furniture and equipment, including tables, chairs, cubbies, bookshelves, and other activity supplies for the children. The facility operates as a half day program, and therefore does not have cots for children to nap. |
