(1) Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Selina Siao visited the facility to conduct a random site inspection. Upon arrival, LPA met with Assistant Director Houda Ahmadi and proceeded to tour the facility. All required notices, forms and licenses were posted. Room 2 (0-12 months) had 8 infants supervised by Infant teacher Ana Hernandez and teacher aide Leann Pennington. Room 3 (ages 12-24 months) had 6 children supervised by Infant Teacher Jennifer Bacon and teacher aide Natalia Keesee. Furniture and age appropriate equipment is in good condition. Rooms have adequate heating, lighting, ventilation and drinking water is available for the older infants. Storage cubbies are readily available, and room accommodates class size. Napping equipment consists of cribs for the young infants in room 2 and cots for the older infants in room 3 which are kept in classroom. Food service area consists of a kitchen which is clean and free of hazards. Menu is posted. Adequate food is available for meals and snacks. Cleaning supplies are kept out of reach of children. Outdoor play area is a fenced playground with no climbing structure. Area has a adequate shade available for children. Portable waters are available for children inside and outside. Grounds are free of debris or potential hazards. Facility uses a digital signature to sign in and out of children. LPA reviewed first aid supplies and reviewed medication policy and storage, all areas are within compliance. Isolation area is the Director's office. Personnel and client records were reviewed and staff members have the required immunizations and completed the online mandated reporter training. There is a safe sleeping plan in the young infant children's files and staff are documenting the children every 15 minutes during their naps. Reporting requirements was also reviewed. All personnel have required criminal record and child abuse index clearances or exemptions. Facility has an operating carbon monoxide detector. Facility has at least one staff member that has a valid EMSA approved CPR/FA when children are in care.

This facility provides Incidental Medical Services – IMS. LPA reviewed storage of medication and equipment/supplies, and reviewed children’s, personnel, and administrative records. The following items were discussed with provider: Director was reminded that corporal punishment, smoking, exersaucers, bouncy seats, walkers, and jumpers are not allowed in day care. Director was provided with information about Heat Related Illness, Never Shake a Baby, safe sleep for infants, best practice on supervision and reporting responsibilities were discussed. The ABC’S of Safe Sleep: Sleep is Safest: Alone, on their Back in an empty Crib on a firm mattress.

Child Care Providers can now sign up for Quarterly Updates and PINS through the DSS website at www.ccld.ca.gov . LPA discussed California Megan's Law with facility representative :www.meganslaw.ca.gov.

An exit interview was conducted, and appeal rights were provided. A notice of site visit was provided and to be posted at the facility for 30 days. . Failure to keep notice posted will result in a civil penalty of $100.00
