25 | On 7/1/2021 at 10:30 a.m. Licensing Program Analyst, Joelle Redding, met with Director Bibianca Jimenez for the purpose of an unannounced annual inspection. During this visit there were 2 infants with two teachers in Room #3 and 16 toddlers (older infants) in Room #2 with two teachers and two aides. The facility has a pending decrease for this program. Room #4 is not in use and will go to the preschool program. Facility is within ratio and capacity. Program operates from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
There is currently a stomach bug going on in the infant room with staff and children and the facility was in the process of having parents pick up. LPA will not be touring Room #3 today. LPA toured the toddler room. The furniture, books, games and toys are safe, age-appropriate and in good repair. The room was a comfortable temperature during this visit. No hazards were noted. Food service area for older infants consists of a kitchen which is clean and free of hazards, with food stored in covered containers at 45 degrees or less and the menu is posted. Infant bedding/napping equipment is sufficient and meets regulatory requirements. The outdoor activity space is separate from other programs with age appropriate play equipment. Hand washing and toileting areas are in a safe, sanitary and in operating condition. All storage containers or trash cans containing solid waste have tight fitting lids and are in good repair. Infant changing tables have padded, washable vinyl at least one inch thick with sides raised at least 3 inches, per regulation and are within arm’s reach of a sink. Infant Needs and Services were on file. There is several staff present with current CPR and First Aid certification. Any medications are centrally stored, inaccessible to children. There is no evidence of rodent or insect activity. The carbon monoxide detector is operational. LPA reviewed sign in/out sheets, a sample of personnel records for educational qualifications and a sample of children's records for emergency information and medical assessments. SB 792 (staff immunizations) and AB 1207 (Mandated Reporter Training) requirements have been met. Facility is reminded the Mandated Reporter Training is to be retaken every two years and can be accessed at the following website: www.mandatedreporterca.com. Safe Sleep was discussed. Isolation area is the Director's office. |
